Bill Gates created two consoles from one gaming console...
(How Smart!)
You could sell one cheaper than the other right? Make people think their getting a deal from the same console...one has more technology than the other. One console too expensive? Try the cheaper one.. Playstation tried this...but it didn't help much...Xbox 360 Arcade and Xbox 360 Elite... Microsoft is willing to drop one console price..while still in competition with Playstation 3 (Genius!) but its the same darn console!?!. Playstation 3's 60 gig or 80 gig thing didn't help them.
They should have created a PlayStation 3 Elite or something..
Either way...Microsoft isn't taking a loss...buy at $199 or $299...
Can't beat low prices in a Recession...so create two outlets for profit..
This is the Edge that Microsoft needed to get ahead of Playstation...
More people are buying the Xbox 360 Arcade console at $199!
Playstation isn't willing to or not willing to create a cheaper console...The PS2 is pretty much old news..Microsoft is offering the same great gaming at a lower price...and Playstation can't cut it...? It nearly broke their hearts to place the PS3 at $299...you can do better Playstation.

Latest Gaming Console Debate...Xbox360 better than PS3?
Many Gamers are Debating which Gaming Console is the Best?
The PS3's sales dropped recently and the company had to accept the new retail sales price of $299 and now the Xbox 360 Elite is now $299.
Is the Fall season now the battle of $299 system consoles? Now its down to the games..will the games make all the difference in sales? Will Tekken 6 for PS3 or Halo fanatics for Xbox360 determine the $299 price battle?
Basically, 90% of PS3 games appear on Xbox 360 so the only difference is the Blu-ray discs.
Microsoft has the Arcade System priced at $199 so their still beating out Playstation.
Is the Nintendo Wii now considered a system for Kids?..aged 3 and up...the games aren't coming up to par with PS3 and Xbox 360.
New PSP(Go) System looks promising for Playstation.
Nintendo Wii a (Super Mario) Gaming Console...There are so many Mario-related games on the Nintendo Wii that its sickening. Nintendo needs to stop shoving Mario down people's throats. We all know Mario sells..but DAMN!...every other game is related to Mario somehow!
